Code 11 refers to one dimensional
numeric only and distinct barcode symbology used for
encoding numbers (0-9), dash symbol (-) and start/stop
characters. Code 11 was developed in 1997 and created as
a high-density symbology consisting of 0-9 digits only.
Code 11 is also recognized as USD-8. Code 11 barcode

Code 11 barcode symbology has the below mentioned character set:
- Ten digits (0-9).
- A dash symbol (-).
- Check sum digit C (infrequently K).
Check digit C is used when the length of the encoded
message is less than 10 characters whereas Check digits
C and K are used when there is the implementation of
more than 10 characters in the encoded message.
Structure of Code
Code 11 barcode symbology has the following structure:
1. A start character.
2. Data to be encoded.
3. An elected (but extremely
suggested) "C" check digit.
4. A non obligatory "K" digit.
5. A stop character.
